Because I have just completed my first year as a freelancer, I've learned a lot so that I will be adjusting my rates as of Oct. 1 to reflect more accurately the amount of time that goes into my editing and what it's worth in terms of money. The rates will be going up, but certainly not a drastic amount, and I think now that I have a better handle on what's going on these rates will be better for me (and still competitive.)
