    Are there guidelines for this sort of thing? Length? Content, etc?

    I send out a new one with each new book.  Headline is usually touting the "local author" angle to D.C. news orgs., and almost as a query I might try to lead with a tease about the nature of the work before getting standard/formal/"formatty."
